George Papadakos
He was born in Toronto, Canada on August 27th of 1965. He was a student and a center in Universities of Syracuse (1983-85) and Michigan State (1985-88), where he studied Management Information Studies and General Business Studies, respectively. He played professional basketball in Greece, where he won four championship titles and one Greek Cup in eight years with Olympiacos, before wearing the jerseys of Peiraikos, Panionios and Papagou. He had a reserve role in the Canadian National Team and he also played 22 games with the Greek National Team, including the 1991 Eurobasket in Rome (5th place). He is a licensed FIBA-A level coach, he has worked as an assistant in Papagou and as a head coach in Chios women’s team. He also had the role of Varsity head coach in St. Lawrence High School in Athens and the position of Director of Coaching in the Canadian Basketball Academy. He was the Support Operations Manager of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and he is currently the Vice President of the Tickner And Associates in Toronto.
